*STATIC NOISE* We interrupt your current broadcast to bring you this exciting book and beauty haul. Courtesy of a reckless and unforgiving passion for both and the fairly narcissistic need to share it.
The books were bought in bunches from various sources; The CAFDA in Sea Point (by far the cheapest books on the Atlantic Seaboard), the creaky and charismatic Clarke's Books on Long Street, and The Book Lounge on Roeland (a literary haven in charge of this month's Open Book Festival).
Culture - Terry Eagleton
South and West - Joan Didion
Past Mortems - Carla Valentine
One Summer: America, 1927 - Bill Bryson
The Evolution of Everything - Matt Ridley
The Red Queen - Matt Ridley
Typecasting - Ewan & Ewan
Now for the beauty bits. We had the usual suspects - Glossier's Generation G in Jam, Stretch Concealer in Medium, Boy Brow in Brown, Glossier You perfume, and the Priming Moisturizer (all cruelty-free) - but there were also some new faces:
Lidstar in Cub, Fawn, and Slip from Glossier
Cloud Paint in Storm, and Dawn from Glossier
Lash Slick from Glossier
Lip Volume from Kiko Milan
Dawn is a huge favourite from this haul. It hasn't budged from our cheeks even once. Barring showers etc, but let's not spoil a hyperbole with the truth.
That's it for now. We'll be doing less beauty content and more book and culture stuff moving forward. So, we hope you've enjoyed the last hurrah! Hit us up with book suggestions in the comments below, and let us know if you've tried Lash Slick yet - do you think it's worth the hype?
Ps. There are too many products mentioned in the post to be able to give an ingredient break-down for each one. Please see individual product links for more information. Read more on our ingredients policy here. All beauty goods described here are cruelty-free.
