Ethical, local-made lingerie that’s beautiful but also comfortable? YES, PLEASE, MA’AM.
It was one of those ‘why the hell not?’ purchases you make close to payday, before you’ve done that panicked, sweaty glance at your finances post-debit orders. Lingerie, like high heels, are things I like to shop on the regular, with exactly fudge-all plan to actually wear them. Ever.
If you can guess why, you’ve probably worn either lingerie, high heels, or both before. They’re uncomfortable. Like, very uncomfortable. Discomfort is their vital essence - as Plato, Aristotle, and John Locke would surely agree - take it away and what you’re left with is not lingerie nor heels.
Well, I’m yet to find heels that don’t make walking barefoot across Long Street at 1am seem like a good idea, but I did find comfortable lingerie. Takkleberry are a local ‘panty studio’ (cute), and they make the sweetest, softest, most comfortable high-rise knickers. Seamless with a cotton gusset, these little slices feel HELLA fancy but only cost R220 a pair. I was so pleased with mine I ordered another two, plus an adorable matching bra (I have a spending problem, I realize).
