ALLY (Pt.10): BARE NATURALS
How've ya been? I'm good, feeling the spring vibe creeping up. Not just in that the sun's rising earlier and earlier, or that yoga classes are filling up thanks to #goals fixed on firmer buns and bods.
It's a bit deeper, too. The smell of sunblock and freshly-cut grass. Sand, sea, itsy bitsy bikinis. Music, food, family. Oh-so-fresh slices of cucumber in oh-so-many gin and tonics. Spring joy - it's coming to me in snatches, peppering my August days with magic.
Speaking of magic, I'd like to introduce you to our next ally, Bare Naturals, a natural skincare range developed and sold by a mother-daughter team. Can we talk about how fabulous that is? I love my mother and she loves me, but if we were ever to work together the only thing we'd make is trouble. Snaps for Bare Natural's duo Debbie and Sarah!
Bare Naturals is based in eThekwini (which is fast becoming a little vegan and sustainable-living mecca), and features a broad selection of presents for your beautiful face and body. Let's take a closer look.
Buuut just before we do that, I'd like to make mention of the kick-ass things that buying online has done for shopping. Bare Naturals, along with other local heroes from the 'Ally' series, changed the game with creative wrapping on all their online orders. Like, when was the last time you bought something in-store that was sold with such pizzazz? Yes, pizzazz. Buying online and having a product sent to you feels like having a birthday, circa around age five or six when birthdays were still unequivocally amazing. And if you make sure to reuse and recycle, it's luxury made a smidge more guilt-free. If you haven't made the online leap yet, do! Just try harness some zen and calm your shit around sales or things might get bleak real quick.
Anyhoo, what was I saying? Yeah, so, Bare Naturals has an extensive range that includes balms, oils, cleansers, toners, waxes, and serums - all made from natural (and sometimes organic and wild-harvested) materials with traceable origins, and without any of those hotly-debated nasties.
The team sent me a whopping selection, including a tea-tree, lemon, and marula face wash for oily skin, an arnica, baobab, and helichrysum bath and massage oil (yoga pains, here I come!), a melon and baobab stretch mark oil (look, I dig my tiger stripes but they don't always add much to a bathing suit), a rose-heavy essential oil blend for long, languid baths, and a therapeutic roll-on essential oil blend for headaches. Pretty sweet haul, huh? Thanks, Bare Naturals!
If you're new to Bare Naturals and think you might want to take your relationship with this eThekwini darling further, I suggest you take a look at their super-reasonably-priced sets. They've got some great natural starter kits for dry and oily skin types, as well as a mom + baby kit, a beard and shaving kit, and a few options for aromatherapy newbies. Dive in, cool kids!
See ya later!
